I discovered you can use dental floss as sewing thread. It leaves your fingers with a fresh minty smell... Its "essential" in more ways than one it seems. I wonder if Oral B know about this?
I also discovered that while a glass jar full of buttons looks great on the shelf, its a real right pain to try and fish out the exact button you want. Its kind of like trying to get that bit of eggshell that you accidently cracked into your cake mix - it just kind of pushes around ahead of your fingers and you can never actually grasp it. I now consider myself superhuman because I got out two buttons exactly the same from this jar.
I discovered with horror that its not a good idea to leave this jar open on the edge of a surface accessable to three year old fingers. Oh my gosh, just imagine! The thought was like realising something was burning on the stove, I jumped across the room and clamped down that lid. Not so superhuman afterall.
Finally, I am the only person in this house who knows where the Easter Bunny has hidden all the eggs and my fingers can't seem to keep from helping themselves. Shhhh. I suspect my cover is blown now.

I love buttons in jars - the colours make me so happy.
ReplyDeleteHee hee I love the hiding spot for the easter eggs!
ReplyDeleteTotally agree on the button in jars front. So cute to look at but totally impractical. One good thing is that I know where I've put them now instead of hunting through endless tupperware. I'm having the same problem with the Easter eggs. I shall have to speak to the E.B next year about hiding them and not telling me where they are. Have a great Easter
ReplyDeleteThey do look gorgeous in that jar though! And I love your tea pot or choc pot!
ReplyDeleteDental floss is fantastic for doll making. It's really strong, so I use it when attaching limbs.
ReplyDeleteLove the photo of the Easter Eggs too :)
Nice little spot for a secret stash! Your buttons do look great in that jar. I've recently put all mine into a tin (for practicality) but I do miss looking at them...
ReplyDeletelol! Love it all. I'm one who didn't know you can use dental floss as sewing thread :)
ReplyDeleteThe buttons look so pretty in the jar. My 3 year old would make a huge mess of those if he got his hands on them!
so funny ... and i love that orange enamel tea pot. I have its long lost grandmother ... in rather battered and tired condition but so well loved by us.
