I make a range of simple and fun clothes for young children, and other bits and bobs as the inspiration arises, under the label of Maika. All Maika products are made by hand at my home in Brisbane, Australia. You can purchase them through my Etsy shop.
I use both new and re-cycled fabrics and trim, combining what I find in second hand shops with contemporary fabrics from retail stores and what I have at hand in my fabric collection. Re-purposed fabrics include tableclothes, hankies, doilies, sheets etc, but always ones in excellent condition.
Most of what I make is OOAK (one of a kind) or made in very limited quantities. All my items are therefore already made and ready to ship. Like something but it's not in the size you want? Custom work is always available and I can probably make something just for you - just contact me.
